The Biomedical Sciences degree programme teaches modern biological and scientific principles with clear application relevance to biomedicine, bioanalytics, pharmaceuticals, and medical products. It goes without saying that all laboratory work takes place on site and in person in our modern laboratories.

Biomedical Sciences (MSc)The consecutive Biomedical Sciences degree programme is aimed at students with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, or comparable relevant degree programmes and is taught in English. The programme focuses on the interaction between biological systems and materials. Students work on the development of innovative medical products and biocompatible materials such as stent coatings, cartilage replacements or artificial heart valves.

The Business Information Systems course deals with the conception, design, development and application of computer-aided information and communication systems in industry, service sectors and administrative organisations.

Chemistry & Sustainable Processes

In the Chemistry & Sustainable Processes degree programme, you will learn how to design chemical processes in an economically, ecologically, and socially sustainable way. In addition to the professionally qualifying specializations in sustainable product development and quality management, you will also acquire basic knowledge in business administration, marketing, and project management.

Decentralised energy systems and energy efficiency

In the first semester, students learn the technical and economic basics for assessing decentralised energy systems and energy efficiency. The compulsory elective modules allow students to deepen their knowledge, skills and competences.

Specialisation is made possible by choosing the specialisation "Energy Technology" or "Energy Economics" in the second semester. In addition to teaching the specialist content, the project-based teaching format and interdisciplinary cooperation between the two specialisations "Energy Technology" and "Energy Economics" are at the forefront in order to train technical and economic perspectives.

Design

This Master’s degree can be studied with four specialisations:  

1. The focus of Fashion Design is to deepen artistic skills in designing fashion, making fashion collections, and understanding the concepts that are behind the clothing collections themselves. Other key topics include current developments in art and design, trends, the influence of the media on society and politics, as well as marketing and presentation techniques.     
2. The focus of Transportation Interior Design deepens skills and knowledge acquired during the Bachelor’s degree program in the areas of design, visualisation, colour and trim, as well as material concepts in transportation interior design. It prepares students for their future work in the industry through its unique hands-on approach.  
3. The focus of Textile Design/Material& Surface Design is on the textile, colour, and material design for architecture, fashion, and transportation. Collection concepts in the field of fabrics are further developed and both textile and collection design are taught in our high-tech laboratories.  
4. The focus of Artistic Conception combines the concepts and solutions of creative design approaches with the open experiment of the visual arts. The means of expression depend on the projects involved and in addition to painting and drawing, students will engage in media such as computers, film, photography, and installation.

Digital Business

The Bachelor's degree programme in Digital Business is an interdisciplinary degree programme that focuses on the development and application of information technologies in a key area of business informatics. The course takes place at the Herman-Hollerith Teaching and Research Centre of the Faculty of Computer Science in Böblingen.

The Master's degree programme in Digital Business Engineering teaches in-depth IT skills in innovative core topics of business informatics. The focus is on engineering methods combined with the formal know-how of analysis and modelling for complex IT-based value creation processes, as well as the technical and strategic know-how for the comprehensive and pervasive computerisation of companies. The course takes place at the Herman-Hollerith Teaching and Research Centre of the Faculty of Computer Science in Böblingen.

The Digital Industrial Management and Engineering degree programme focuses on applied research into digitalisation in industry. Reutlingen University offers this Master’s degree programme in cooperation with Stellenbosch University’s Department of Industrial Engineering in South Africa.

European Management Studies 

Over two years, this trilingual (DE/FR/EN) programme trains up graduates from non-economics degree programmes into experts in the field of German-French economics. Students spend their 1^st semester in Reutlingen, the 2^nd on an internship and the 3^rd and 4^th semesters at the Ecole de Management of the University of Strasbourg. At the end of their studies, graduates receive two Master’s degrees, one from Reutlingen University and one from the University of Strasbourg.

Fashion & Textile Design

In the Fashion and Textile Design degree course, the decision to specialise in either textile design or fashion design is made after the first semester. The main aim of the degree course is to provide students with the basic knowledge they need to develop independent collections in fabrics and fashion and to teach them practical and creative skills.

Study in two countries: on the MSc Global Management and Digital Competencies programme, you will spend the first part of your studies at one of four international partner universities and then complete your degree at the ESB Business School in Reutlingen. You will study entirely in English at both locations.

Building on the basic knowledge of the Bachelor's degree programmes in Media and Communication Informatics and Medical and Technical Informatics, the Master's degree programme focuses on content that has a special connection to people. This degree course shows how a team of experts from different disciplines can work together to identify a problem and then share it across the various sub-disciplines in such a way, that each expert can make optimum use of his or her freedom to contribute to the overall result.
