Study opportunities
Target group:
- Students from the partner universities Dnipro University of Technology and Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
- Students from higher education institutions, whose leaders are members of the PO «Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine». See list.
What does this mean? - You can enrol as an exchange student with full student status for 1-2 semesters and can participate in specialist lectures and projects in English or German, and receive grades or credits. There is also an option to participate in language courses in German or English (see under Language courses).
Guest student status for 1-2 semesters:
Target group: Target group: Students from higher education institutions, whose leaders are NOT members of the PO «Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine». See list.
What does this mean? - You may attend specialist lectures and language courses as a guest student but you will not have full student status at Reutlingen University. For example, you will not be able to take any exams and will not receive any grades or credits. Admission opportunities are available now.

All prospective students are welcome to contact the Central Study Advisory Service for information and advice on studying at Reutlingen University. Information on application requirements for international applicants can be found here.
Applicants with an academic degree:
Reutlingen University is offering a program for refugee academics who have previous knowledge or degrees in computer science-related programs. The program will support participants in their studies and integration into working life.
Target group: International students with or without a refugee background who have a degree from a computer science-related program.

Reutlingen University is providing emergency financial aid in the form of one-time scholarships for students affected by the war in Ukraine. Students can apply at any time. If you are interested in more information, please contact Anne-Cathrin Lumpp.
Reutlingen University is offering a special buddy program for students who have fled Ukraine. If you are interested in this buddy program, please contact Sunita Wolz for further information and registration.
Language courses
The Institute for Foreign Languages is offering beginner course (Niveau A1) for refugees from Ukrainian universities. Refugees with previous knowledge also have the opportunity to attend German courses at a higher level, provided there are free places in the courses. In addition to regular and punctual course participation, student status at Reutlingen University is required.
Students who meet the following requirements can participate:
- Age: 18 years and older
- Educational background: Students (also those with completed degrees), people with a higher education entrance qualification
- Knowledge of English and the Latin alphabet is not required, but recommended

Free of charge German language courses via Babbel app: Babbel supports Ukrainian refugees with language courses – Babbel Help Centre.
Refugees with sufficient previous knowledge have the opportunity to attend English language courses from CEFR level B1-B2, provided there are free places in the courses. For people with little or no previous knowledge, appropriate courses can be arranged. In addition to regular and punctual course participation, student status at Reutlingen University is required.

Support for refugee scientists
Reutlingen University and the Reutlingen Research Center support scientists from Ukrainian universities in finding an academic host for research or teaching possibilities at Reutlingen University. We also provide support in finding potential funding for the period of your stay at Reutlingen University. More information can be found under funding posibilities.
Procedure:
Researchers and lecturers from Ukrainian universities are invited to fill out the Science-Match-Form and send it, along with all required documents, to rri@reutlingen-university.de. Subsequently, the RRI will seek suitable academic hosts at Reutlingen University.
The following list includes relevant funding programmes for researchers, lecturers, and doctoral candidates mostly with English and/or German skills. Applications must be accompanied in most cases by a supporting letter of the hosting institution:
Call for applications: research scholarship under the DAAD Programme “Ukraine digital: Ensuring academic success in times of crisis, 2022” for a research stay at Reutlingen university. Target group: Ukrainian scientists currently based in Germany. Contributions to digital teaching for UA universities in the frame of the project is expected.
