Get your career staRTed offers a variety of initiatives to help international students prepare for entering the job market and launching their careers in Germany. In collaboration with the Center for Entrepreneurship, we provide advisory services, workshops, events, and a mentoring program focused on the theme "Jobs and Careers in Germany."

get your career staRTed at Reutlingen University offers:

Advisory Services: Available through our advisors directly on campus or online if preferred.

Workshops: German and English-language workshops on a variety of topics, freely and flexibly selectable.

Events: Focused on entrepreneurship and careers, often with over 200 participants, renowned companies, and start-ups.

Mentoring Program: With selected mentors who address open questions and concerns in one-on-one discussions.

Mentoring program

As part of "get your career staRTed," we offer our mentoring program for international students. The aim of the program is to connect mentees with mentors who can provide insights on topics related to entering the job market and professional life in Germany, as well as intercultural, professional, and other questions.

Scope

At least three meetings per semester are planned.

Introductory meeting (online or in person) to clarify expectations
Visit to the mentor's workplace (if possible)
Final conversation (online or in person) to discuss next steps

At the end of the semester, we invite all pairs to a get-together at Reutlingen University. This could also take place at one of the participating companies. The planned date is February 13, 2025.

Topics

All topics are generally possible. The focus is on questions related to applications, entering the job market, daily professional life in Germany, and clarifying career goals.

Matching

If you are interested in the program, please fill out the respective registration form with questions for mentees as well as for mentors. Your responses will help us create suitable tandem pairs.
