Diversity Month: Addressing Handshaking Restrictions for Muslim Employees at the Workplace

DEI initiatives do not currently accommodate the sensitive topic of handshaking restrictions for Muslim employees, although it is easy to implement and would make a huge difference for them. This factor is easily overlooked which leads to misunderstandings due to a lack of communication, frustration on both sides. To avoid feelings of guilt and shame in Muslim employees, and confusion and disappointment in their counterparts, employees need to be better informed.
